Wenona Lodge was built in 1910 by brother and sister James and Hannah Maguire, situated on the east shore of Sparrow Lake with pleasant grounds and large stately trees. Later, their nephew Frank Maguire (and Muriel) bought the property and restored the lodge, operating it for many years. In 1970, James Maguire Jr and his wife Maureen took ownership. Wenona Lodge was destroyed by fire in 1982 and was rebuilt, but it eventually closed, and today there are no buildings standing on the property.
